Of course no day out in the sun is complete without a visit to the beach and this spot along the waterfront doesn’t disappoint. While it’s a beach that has been embellished with additional sand, it’s a great place to enjoy the warmth of the sun, and test out the waters, even if you go no further than a few explorative toes.
The locals say there is nothing like their city on a good day, and that’s certainly true down by the waterfront. If you’re planning some time outside, perhaps a picnic or just a place to let off some of your children’s energy, then think about popping down to the newly redeveloped Wellington Park, Waitangi.

Early American benches or the trestle benches which are excellent in the dining room setup, and are good for starters in the woodworking scenario. You can also start with the saw buck dining table usually made of oak and a walnut top. This is a sturdy piece of furniture and is a good for starters too.

If you are a bit of a gardener or just appreciate a beautifully designed garden, be sure to wander near the wetland area that has been planted with natives. This is an environmentally friendly area that will encourage bird life to visit in the appropriate seasons.
As the US seat of government and power, Washington, DC, is less known for its network of parks. The creation of some 59 inner-city parks was no accident, however. The majority of these open spaces were provided for by Pierre L’Enfant, the French-born engineer who architected the plan for the Nation’s capital. In 1790, L’Enfant submitted his design for the Capital City of Washington. Drawing on his exposure to many classic European cities, he created a system of avenues and open spaces where the public could easily admire monuments and other government icons. The parks, medians, circles and triangles of the modern Capitol Hill Parks evolved from L’Enfant’s vision. In 1901, the McMillan Commission helped codify his plan, further paving the way for additional parks and green spaces.
One final consideration is if you ever plan to enjoy this outdoor area at night. While you could rig up spotlights and other large lighting options, those can also take away from the beauty of the environment you have created. Instead, look for lanterns and other more romantic lighting options. While some are run with candles, others can be hardwired in to be electric lighting that don’t look out of place.
The first area of the park, making up about three quarters of the entire area has recently been fully completed, with the final two areas still in development. This is an area steeped in history, as it was a place used by Maori due to its water access for food supplies. It stands to reason that it continues to be a place people gather, share food and socialise.
