Position every bench top material on the ground, upside down and lay every piece of wood beside each other and make sure everything is flush with each other. Lock the bench supports on to the bench top members by using nails. This is only used to keep the top in position until you drill and bolt them down. Be certain that the nails do not go through the bench top and attain the surface and do not fall in the way of the bolts. Turn the bench upright and drill in the bolts to lock the plane.

There is nothing worse than having to stop a project to run to the lumber and hardware store because you needed something more that was not on your hand written list. I guarantee you will make those trips many times before you are done. Do your self a favor and find a great cabinetry plan to start with even if you have to pay a little for it. Good plans will have comprehensive material and hardware lists already completed which makes the procedure of buying all the materials in one trip very easy.

Foundations can be treated timber posts dug into the ground on which the floor of the shed can be constructed of wood runners. My preference was for a concrete slab strengthened with reinforcing steel. Protruding bolts embedded in the concrete secured the bottom framing plate. The concrete slab formed a sturdy support for the framing firmly anchored against all climatic conditions. This style of support ensured the smooth opening of the double doors and windows.
